here’s a shot of our kitchen mostly as it was when we moved in, viewed from the top of the stairs. the two pendant lights above the breakfast bar replaced a brass hanging light that bore an uncanny resemblance to a pogo ball. we’ve also removed a decorative wood bar that connected the top front of the cabinets across the window.

the ladder isn’t normally in our kitchen, but this was taken after we had removed the range hood and the cabinet above it to make room for our new over-the-range microwave. benton was sitting by the sink and may have been possessed at the time the picture was taken.

you can see our dusty rose countertops along with the old stove, sink, and a sliver of the old dishwasher. we’re replacing the faucet too, but it’s already a better faucet than what the house came with.
